School Away From School provides alternative environment for youth to learn and grow
PEACH: Promoting Economic Action & Community Health
PEACH runs a School Away From School project that aims to deliver intensive support, learning and enrichment activities for at-risk youth by utilizing a strength-based, youth-focused approach. Youth who have been suspended and have encountered major learning and social challenges in their home and at school have the opportunity to recover incomplete credits, complete work at his/her own pace and experience success. Within the full-day program, youth spend mornings completing schoolwork under the guidance of a teacher, while the afternoons are devoted to learning life skills. Other activities focus on leadership, nutrition education and the arts.
