Anti-Poverty Action Conference: Agencies Exercising Agency Poverty Reduction will take place on Monday, March 22, 2010 from 9-5 p.m. at Oakham House, Ryerson University (55 Gould Street). A panel and a keynote speaker will discuss various topics related to poverty reduction strategies and six workshops addressing poverty in multidimensional contexts will also be offered for conference attendees. Always Nubian, Always Scarborough Association (A.N.A.S.A.) Fashion Phoenix Project:
An alternative and holistic training environment for young women ages 17-24 exploring careers within the Fashion Design, Merchandising, and Event marketing field. This 12-week mentorship project gives young women a safe space to be creative with the support of established designers to aid their growth and development, while planning a three-day Fashion and Entertainment Festival in partnership with YOUnited Neighbourhoods. The project begins in March 2010.
