Young Women's Collaborative
The Young Women’s Collaborative will bring together young racialized women, community-based organizations and public institutions to enhance and coordinate services to address gaps in programming for young women. The YW initiative will also create a safe space for young female leaders to build capacity to effectively support their peers in the 13 priority neighbourhoods.
YW participants will develop a comprehensive resource guide to provide a holistic framework for engaging young racialized women living in the 13 priority neighbourhoods. They will then implement the framework in their respective initiatives, tailoring it to meet the needs of program participants.
Monthly meetings, quarterly community events and a year-end leadership conference will allow YW participants to continue to collaborate and support each other. They will also have opportunities to further enhance their leadership skills by connecting with a mentor or completing a placement in an area of their interest.
