The S.T.Y.L.E (Skills Training for Youth through Learning and Education) project seeks to engage 180 youth from the Westminster-Branson and Jane-Finch priority neighbourhoods by providing personalized learning disabilitiy specific skills training and mentorship. The STYLE project will work towards creating a lasting improvement in the lives of youth and work towards building youth and parent/guardian/adult ally capacity in order to advocate for additional resources and services. Further, the project seeks to strengthen parents’ understanding of learning disabilities issues and their ability to make informed decisions. This parental component is essential as parents/guardians/adult allies need to clearly understand the difficulties associated with learning disabilities and become empowered to stand up alongside young leaders in helping to effect change.
