The initiative engaged youth in entrepreneurship, using the arts as a tool. Housed in a TCHC space, the initiative led cultural programming such as drumming, dance and theatre, as well as workshops in graphic design and creative writing. The program also included a tutoring and mentorship component. A total of 24 youth participated in the one-year initiative, which ran twice a week.
All initiative activities promoted self-expression, while helping youth build leadership skills and hone their creative talents. The initiative has created opportunities for experiential learning through the arts for underserved youth living in East-end priority neighbourhoods. The initiative also gave the organization an opportunity to strengthen their capacity to support underserved youth.
