Central Ontario Community Builders: Hammerheads Initiative

The Hammerheads Initiative partners with employment agencies and trade unions to provide a 25-week training course in various trade professions for 150 youth.

Youth who express a commitment and willingness to continue will choose a specialty. They will then undergo an assessment with union representatives, and successful participants will be guaranteed a job with a Hammerheads initiative partner. The first cohort of 50 youth will begin training in September 2009.
