For Youth Initiative: 1652 Keele Space Initiative

For Youth Initiative (FYI) is a youth-led agency that uses pop culture to bring critical theory and social systemic change to the streets of the former City of York, North Etobicoke and West Toronto. FYI is dedicated to supporting and advancing equity, fair access, full participation and representation for local ethno-specific youth through social and recreational programming. Fifth-round YCF funding will create space to house other youth-led organizations within the youth-designated space at 1652 Keele Street as well as cover the costs of renovating and furnishing the space, in partnership with the City of Toronto’s Partnership Opportunities Legacy Fund. FYI will provide organizational mentorship and capacity building for fledgling youth entities as well as support collaborative programming to be run by members of the collective within the space.
